Covid-19 Safety Measures (Updated March 2022)

The English Government removed all Covid-19 restrictions from 24th February 2022. However, as a clinical practice, Ki Point Acupuncture continues to be cautious of Covid because the fact remains that Covid is an infectious disease, and we may be living with Covid for quite some time.

As always, the health and welfare of our patients is our highest priority, thus, we are still taking reasonable measures to continue to reduce the risk of transmission.

The schedule at our clinic continues to be designed for low daily traffic. Extended breaks between treatment sessions are still being imposed to avoid contact between patients. And, thorough sterilisation measures remain in place, making the risk of infection extremely low.

Timing

  • Timely arrival at the clinic for your appointment is appreciated.

  • Early entry or extended treatment time will not be allowed due to the procedures in place.

Precautionary Procedures For Your Safety

  • Only pre-booked appointments are being accepted.

  • Patients are to confirm themselves free of Covid and any Covid symptoms before treatment, including: fever, shortness of breath, loss of sense of taste/ smell, persistent dry cough, runny nose, sore throat.

  • Patients are to confirm that they have not been in recent, close contact with anyone who has tested positive for Covid.

  • Patients are to inform us if they have recently been abroad.

  • Everyone entering the clinic will sanitise their hands upon arrival.

  • Under government guidelines, face masks are no longer required, but we encourage them to be worn in the clinic.

  • Two-metre social distancing will be observed in the clinic where and when feasible.

Sterilisation & Cleanliness

The standards of hygiene and sterility are very high in the clinic. Some simple policy guidelines in place for your safety:

  • Everyone entering the clinic is to sanitise their hands upon arrival.

  • Extended breaks between treatments eliminate patient to patient contact and provide ample time for thorough cleaning.

  • The treatment area, including all surfaces, door handles, equipment, etc., is completely sanitised between each treatment with disinfection wipes and/or alcohol.

  • Sheets and towels are kept in a closed cabinet and changed between patients, so there can be no contamination from patient to patient.

  • Ventilation and an air purifier is used to reduce the risk of airborne Covid particles.

  • (As standard) all acupuncture needles are single-use, pre-sterilised disposable needles.
